Guidelines for Contributors
These guidelines are meant to help contributors with the little items that will make posting to this blog fun and easy and at the same time achieve a consistent look and allow the various features to work properly.
This blog has a width of 1024 pixels. The maximum width of pictures must not exceed 1024 pixels in width. Wider photos will get chopped. Sorry, this is how this system works.
The font and size are controlled by the style sheet for the theme at the WordPress site. The default font size is rather small and hard to read in this grey on gray theme. Use Live Writer for setting up you post. Use font size 12 for normal text. Accept the defaults for the Headings.
Prepare your pictures before inserting them into the post.
You do not need to size it to the size that you will use in the post, just make sure it is no smaller than the final size (in pixel dimensions).
- Give each photo a title property
- Set the tags in the image file as you like
You may use affects such as tilting, frames (if you must, “None” if preferred) – Try not to use picture effects and corrections in Live Writer – Employ those effects before bringing the image into the post so you will have proper copies of the image.
Your post images may contain links to larger versions at another site. To avoid filling up our storage allowance, please do not upload large sizes to the blog Media library.
For the post set the category to your name. If you are editing a post from another contributor, leave that contributor’s name as an additional category.
In order for WordPress to properly show our blog posts in searches and other pages, post tags must include the following: Photography, 2C2V, and any additional tags of your choice.
If you have a special “end of story” mark you may use it. (See Ludwig’s mark at the end of this page.)
These guidelines are still under development and will no doubt change extensively.
Your suggestions and comments are invited (by email to the moderator).
