Photographing Daffodils

This time each February the daffodils come out all over the South. I like getting photos of the first ones up. Using an iPhone has been a quick and easy way to get the first portraits. The iPhone with its 4 mm lens provides plenty of depth of field even at its fixed f/1.8 aperture. Here is one of my photos from this year. slightly cropped for better composition.

Of course, I do post-processing of all my photos. And often I take it a step farther int the “cafe art” territory. I have done so with this photo too.

For this year I have planned to do a “big story” on shooting daffodils. My material is a bit overwhelming so it will be some time before I get it all together. So just a teaser here:
