Monday Window – 26

Windows – Up and Round

Some eight years ago a tornado tore through the Atlanta area. Downtown was mostly undamaged, but flying debris took out a lot of windows. The  tall, round Westin Peachtree Plaza was particularly affected. The curved replacement windows had to be specially manufactured, so the hotel sat there looking like this for quite some time.

  1. I remember being there not long after it happened – it as an eerie scene. Most of the tall buildings near the CNN Center had plywood in place of knocked out windows. I don’t know if anyone was seriously injured from that storm…I certainly hope not.
