Thursday Doors – 21

Doors at the Distillery

The previous post here, Monday Window, showed some strong window bars and steel shutters on the “barrel house” of the Woodford Reserve Distillery. So do they have equally strong doors?

You betcha!

But there are more inviting doors there too.

And some interesting doors as well.

The photo above shows the door through which the barrels leave the still house, where the bourbon is distilled, on their way to the barrel house where the aging process keeps them for several years. The dark doorway leads from the barrel house to the bottling building.

Thursday Doors is a weekly feature allowing door lovers to come together to admire and share their favorite door photos from around the world.

The activity is conducted by Norman Frampton.

Since this week doors are also the topic over  at Cee’s Photography this post will join the fun there as well:

    • You might reconsider, Norm. This is a very friendly place, but they are protective of their product. — Samples over at the visitors center!

    • … and there might be a faint hint of bourbon taste from reusing bourbon barrels. Such taste of bourbon can be very pleasant even for people who find straight whiskey not to their liking.
Thank you for your kind words.

    • Thank you Janet – Hope you enjoyed the race as well as the beer. If you are ever travelling in Kentucky a visit to a distillery will be wonderful experience!
